Anybody who knows the history of these people is aware of the fact that they don't understand what the word peace means.
Unless you want to import terrorism into Nigeria, do not involve yourself in religious conflicts, particularly those involving heartless, ruthless middle-east terrorists. We have our own religious troubles emanating from our northern brothers. Do not make it worse.
Do you remember the story of Yasser Arafat? The UN couldn't get him to implement UN resolutions. It was empty promises, and deceits all the way from him. America would give money to the Palestinians to try to pacify them into stopping the conflicts, but Arafat simply pocketed the money, and found a way to start up more trouble for yet more money. In the end he died a very wealthy man as a result. Arafat's personal wealth was estimated at about $US11 billion.
The Palestinians claimed that they were fighting because Israel was occupying their land (Gaza strip and the West Bank), and that if that land was given back, every hostility from the Palestinians (i.e. kid suicide bombers against Israel) would seize. In the year 2000, under pressure from the USA and the UN, Israel reluctantly withdrew from Gaza. Since then, Israel has seen nothing but increased attacks from Islamic fascists such as Hamaz, Hezbollah, Palestinian suicide bombers, etc.
Muslim nations in the middle east do not recognize Israel as a sovereign country. Iran has even publicly called for a total annihilation of Israel. Why? As we all know, Iran is pursuing nuclear technology. Coincidence? No way. Clearly such nuclear technology is for a nuclear bomb to use against Israel. Is this the conflict Nigeria wants to get involved in?
Even if all that Nigeria does is send money to Palestinians, we know how that money is going to be used. It'd be used to build more bombs, or it'd be embezzled by Palestinian leaders.
The bottomline is, muslim fundamentalists in the middle east don't want peace with Israel, or with anybody who doesn't share their archaic idealogy. They simply want the war to expand. So, them approaching Nigeria to get involved in the war, is nothing more than a PR game and propaganda. The same game they've played for decades.
Nigeria's involvement wouldn't be about trying to broker a lasting peace between Israel and its enemies. Rather, the Palestinians merely want to able to say, hey look, Nigeria is on the side of Palestine on this jihad.
Nigeria has it's problems. Please do not add to it by stepping into the volatile Middle east conflict.
Israel never strikes unless provoked. So, if Palestine and the other terrorists want peace, all they have to do is lay down their arms, stop their pre-emptive attacks against Israel, and recognize Israel's right to exist. I guarantee you, if that happens, there would be instant peace in the region.Statistics: Posted by Richard Akindele — Mon Aug 21, 2006 5:54 pm
