I'm curious as to know why the population of most Islamic countries is predominantly men.

I know why China is mostly men. They have been aborting and killing their female babies for decades.

Also, I understand why Eastern European countries are mostly women. This is the result of Hitler's attack on the former USSR territory. Tens of millions of Russians were killed, most of them men of course. USSR have been unable to restore that balance since of men/women ratio.

I know there is an oppression of women under Islam. But does a tradition exist in Islam where female babies are actually aborted, or killed soon after birth? There has to be a good reason why the following is the case:

United Arab Emirates - 1.43 (143 men to every 100 women)

Kuwait - 1.52 (152 men to every 100 women)

Qatar 1.87 (187 men to every 100 women)

Furthermore, with such an acute shortage of women in these countries, how is it possible that many men have several wives? There are men with five wives in polygamous relationships.

Ultimately, this may be the reason why it's so easy to convince youngsters in these countries to become suicide bombers. "Hey Ahmed, become a martyr, and you'd automatically be rewarded with 72 virgins in heaven!"

Were you ever able to determine if there is wide spread abortion of female infants in Kuwait and other middle eastern coutries. It seems the statistics are proof enough but did you get any other explanations?
